Soak it and put it in a none flammable container. The heat from the steam breaks down the soils and residues. The remaining stain will come off. We have known for years that steam is a great cleaner and since it is just vaporized water it is safe to use on most types of flooring.

Typically if minwax stain is still tacky after 4 6 hours there was too much stain left behind. Most oil based stains recommend these steps for floors. One very effective way of removing sticky residue from floors is to use a steam mop. Steam mops are a great solution for cleaning sticky floors.

The clorox wipes only took so much effort and a 20 square took 2 1 2 hours. Even then it will eventually dry.
